PDF to Excel Extractor is a browser extension that converts PDF files into Excel spreadsheets. This policy explains what data the extension does and does not access, in plain terms.

Summary

This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All PDF processing happens locally in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server.

What the extension does with your files

When you select or drop a PDF into the extension popup, the file is read and processed entirely on your device using bundled libraries (PDF.js and SheetJS). The extension:

Never uploads your PDF, or any data extracted from it, to any server
Never stores your files after the browser popup is closed
Has no backend, no database, and no account system
Cannot access files you have not explicitly selected or dropped into it

The Excel file the extension generates is saved directly to your computer via your browser's own download mechanism, the same way any file download works.

The one network request this extension makes

If you turn on the optional "Use OCR for scanned pages" feature, the extension downloads a small language data file from tessdata.projectnaptha.com the first time you use OCR in a given language. This file is a static data asset (not code, and not your data) used to recognize text in scanned images. It is cached after the first download. No content from your PDF, and no information about you, is included in or resulting from this request.

If you never enable OCR, this extension makes no network requests at all.

Permissions this extension requests, and why

Permission	Why it's needed

The extension does not request access to your browsing history, other open tabs, your location, or any website content besides the PDF file you explicitly choose to process.

Health, financial, or payment information
Authentication credentials
Personal communications
Location data
Web browsing history
Website content from pages you visit
Analytics or usage tracking of any kind

Third-party services

This extension bundles the following open-source libraries, which run locally and do not phone home:

PDF.js (Mozilla) — reads PDF content
SheetJS — generates the Excel file
Tesseract.js — powers the optional OCR feature; its language data files are hosted at tessdata.projectnaptha.com, the one external domain this extension contacts

Children's privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
